Craigentinny Primary School visit
We recently had a visit from a Craigentinny Primary School P3 class, who were learning about local produce and sustainability. The children were very enthusiastic and eager to learn. We really enjoyed having them and visits like theirs highlight what an amazing local resource our Community Plot is. The class had a great time touring the allotments learning about allotment produce, how to grow fruit and vegetables in the city, and they even got to taste some of the things we h

What a fantastic Open Day!
The plots were looking fantastic, the sun shone and people excelled themselves with some amazing creations for the yarn bombing. We had 233 paying visitors and around 40 children who all had a great time trying to find the knitted animals and vegetables on the Yarn Bomb Trail. Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a fantastic day. (Video by Rosie Purnell. Photos by Philip Gillespie of Edinburgh Photography Meetup Group and one or two by plot holders) #News #Event

Knit Night Yarn Bombers prepare for our Open Day
We've had three great Knit Nights at the Dalriada in Portobello where plot holders, friends and supporters unleashed their creativity with needles and wool in preparation for yarn bombing the allotments. Some amazing veg and other surprises will help decorate the site for our Open Day on Sunday, 5th August. Rainbows and Brownies getting their hands dirty and loving it
Local Rainbows and Brownies came along to help plant flower seeds and veg in our brand new Community Plot. They loved learning how to plant things in our colourful tyre planters and beds. It was great to have them back again for a picnic and barbecue where they could see the results of their work starting to peek through the soil. #News

Great improvement on the community plot
A huge thanks to everybody who helped us transform the community plot over the weekend of 7th & 8th April. There was sweat, toil and artistic creativity in equal measures, creating a useable growing and meeting space. There was delicious food and good company to keep us going. There is still more work to be done in preparation for our Open Day in August and we plan to finish the good work on the weekend of 23rd & 24th June. Everyone welcome. #News
