Fruit tree pruning workshop, 2nd November 2024

As a challenging horticultural year neared the end, Craigentinny Telferton Allotment members embraced the autumn with a fascinating, informative workshop on fruit tree pruning, led by local orchard specialist Tom Watson (The Orchard Project, Leith Croft) who made us aware of so many things to be taken into account when pruning (or not) our apple, pear trees, currant bushes etc. Somehow the weather stayed dry if cloudy, bringing together some of the newer and longer-standing allotment members, proving there’s always something new to learn. We can’t wait to try out our new knowledge and skills on our trees.
